COVID-19 deaths

Today we are sadly reporting the deaths of 13 people with COVID-19 who have died in the past five days.

These deaths take the total number of publicly reported deaths with COVID-19 to 1,185 and the seven-day rolling average of reported deaths is 14.

Of the people whose deaths we are reporting today; four were from the Auckland region, two were from Canterbury, and one each from Bay of Plenty, Tairāwhiti, Hawke’s Bay, Hutt Valley, Capital and Coast, Nelson Marlborough, and Southern.

One person was in their 40s, two were in their 70s, five were in their 80s, and five were aged over 90.

Of these people, six were female and seven were male.

This is a very sad time for whānau and friends and our thoughts and condolences are with them.

Out of respect, we will be making no further comment on these deaths.
