Despite wet weather, development in the city centre progressed rapidly in September.
Work has almost finished on the Boutique, the former Victoria Park Market car park at 206 Victoria Street West. It has been transformed into an 11-level building, with six levels added to the existing five-level car park to create the Swiss-Belsuites Victoria Park Auckland hotel.
At 164 Hobson Street, the Fiore II is in the final stages. The 14-level building incorporates the façade of the existing historic corner building into the development and provides 74 apartments.
Treatment of the façade has included reinstatement of the original style veranda, which complements the streetscape favourably.
On Karangahape Road, the K’ Road Food Workshop at 309 Karangahape Road opened, bringing a Ponsonby-esque style food court and bar to the area. Two doors down, the similarly styled Holm also opened.
