Spring has arrived, and with the holidays just around the corner many of us are forced to delve a little deeper into our pockets at this time of year.
Thankfully, the spring edition of Easy Choice – Family Kai is here to help. The meal planner will help you with four weeks of in-season recipes that are nutritionist-approved, zero-waste, and designed to cost $60 per week.
Easy Choice – Family Kai is a community-based initiative that was developed by Fresh Choice and Love Food Hate Waste, with support from Auckland Council.
The best part? Love Food Hate Waste has made the recipe and meal planning booklets available for free, meaning anyone can follow the Easy Choice – Family Kai program, no matter where they are or where they shop.
Easy Choice – Family Kai and shopping lists for the recipes are available for download for free from the Love Food Hate Waste website. It’s the third of four seasonal meal planners. The summer edition of Easy Choice will be released in January.
Want to get hands-on with the meal planner? Come along to a free workshop on 17 October with the Kaitiaki Sisters to learn how to make meals from the Spring edition of Easy Choice – Family Kai.
Kiwi families are throwing away three shopping trolleys of food a yearon average. Planning meals ahead of time can save money and make it easy your family to make healthy decisions.
If you live South Auckland, you can grab a hard copy of Easy Choice this Friday, 12 October from your local Pātaka Kai stand. Go here for more information.
