A state of local emergency has been declared for Auckland due to severe weather causing unprecedented flooding across the region.

Due to adverse weather, there are multiple road closures and slips across the region which is affecting some Metro services and driving conditions.

Most bus services are operating including rail replacements; due to the severe weather conditions further last minute cancellations may occur.

Please expect possible delays to Inner Harbour services as the ferries will be slower, to allow lookouts to spot potential debris.

Train:

Auckland's rail network is closed this weekend per the planned work taking place while KiwiRail maintain and upgrade the rail network.

Rail replacement services are running, and we have ambassadors on the network to assist with journey planning.
Please be aware that unfortunately our Journey Planner and AT Mobile app have not been updated with the rail bus replacement services due to a data upload failure. Existing rail buses for the Rail Network Rebuild will be visible.

Following a rail network inspection, Kiwirail have discovered subsidence issues next to the track on the Eastern and Western line.

From Tuesday 31 January 2023, train services will be impacted on the Western and Eastern Line while KiwiRail, the track owner and maintainer, urgently work on the areas of subsidence along the line.
Auckland Transport is working closely with KiwiRail and our train operator Auckland One Rail to minimise the disruption to passengers.
