With JobFest coming up on 11 May, this week was the perfect time for Grace Hala and Meriana Toki to get ready for new work opportunities.
On 2 May they met the Dress for Success volunteers in Mt Eden and after two hours they both had a new interview-ready wardrobe as well as a new handbag, makeup, jewellery and shoes.
"I enjoyed getting out of my comfort zone to try on new clothes," said Grace.
The next stop was Rodney Wayne, where hairdressers Marguerita and Natalie gave them new hairstyles. Both Grace and Meriana felt more confident and fabulous!
Then it was a visit to CareersNZ for a CV review with Blake Wong-Ling, where they discussed the best features to include in their CVs. Finally, it was off to get some tips from Mayor Len Brown and a photoshoot in their new outfits.
Both of them loved the day. Meriana said, "The realisation of being work ready starts with great presentation and confidence."
Thanks to Dress for Success and Rodney Wayne for supporting JobFest.
