What do you think of the Draft Browns Bay Centre Plan?

People are invited to have their say on planning for Browns Bay’s future. The Hibiscus and Bays Local Board would like to hear community’s views on how they see Browns Bay changing and developing.

The local board is keen to hear what people think of the Draft Browns Bay Centre Plan including what they like, what they don’t like, and what opportunities there are. The consultation period runs until Thursday, 30 June 2016.

Ways to have your say:

• Attend a workshop on Monday, 13 June 5.30-7pm at the local board office, 2 Glen Road, Browns Bay.
• Drop in at an open day on Saturday 25 June 10am-12pm outside Westpac Bank, corner Clyde and Inverness roads, Browns Bay.
• If you are unable to attend an event, give feedback online atshapeauckland.co.nz  or pick up a feedback form from East Coast Bays Library or East Coast Bays Leisure Centre or email hibiscusandbayslocalboard@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz. 
  
  

Key points from the Draft Browns Bay Centre Plan:

• Improve connectivity around the town and in particular between the recreational opportunities of Freyburg Park, the town centre and the beach front.
• Review and develop the role of the Village Green and surrounding community service buildings for the town centre.
• Consider the future role for farmers markets in the town and how these and other special street events can be planned for in the longer term.
• Consider the role of public car parking provision and council-owned sites in the town centre to determine whether parking can be provided in a more sympathetic manner to the physical environment whilst maintaining or improving supply.
• Consider the role of the Taiaotea Estuary connections to the beach front. Work with surrounding landowners to put in place a plan that can produce an attractive and high quality outcome for the public and benefit private investment.
