Anzac Day is a time to reflect on the servicemen and servicewomen, past and present, who have displayed courage and self-sacrifice serving our country.

The number of in-person services and ceremonies across the region is reduced as a result of the red-light setting when planning was undertaken.

Popular services at Waikumete and Browns Bay have been cancelled for this year, while the dawn service at the Auckland War Memorial Museum is not open to the public.

There are still many ways for all Aucklanders to honour the military veterans they know, by commemorating at home or in the community.

Check below for details of any parades and services across the region, as well as online events to commemorate Anzac Day on Monday 25 April 2022.

Auckland Domain Dawn Service

Details: This will be a small special service by veterans for veterans and a small group of dignitaries. Members of the public are encouraged to stay at home and watch the service on Māori Television.

Mt Wellington/Panmure Service and Ceremony

Parade assembly: 9.30am at 163 Queens Rd, Panmure
Parade commences: 9.40am at Queens Rd, right into Pilkington Rd, right into Community Hall carpark. Best viewed either side of Queens Rd.
Road closure: 9.35am-9.50am Queens Rd from Church Cres to Pilkington Rd; Pilkington Rd from Pleasant View Rd to Queens Rd.
Other details: Carparking on Main St or Panmure Hotel carpark. Hall access is limited to 200 under RED. Entry will be granted to those with a Covid-19 passport and wearing a mask while inside. Those on the parade should also wear a mask and keep a minimum of 1 metre separation. All welcome back to the Landmark Bar at 163 Queens Rd, Panmure for full afternoon celebration and entertainment.

St Heliers Video Display

Video display: This year, there will not be an Anzac Day service held in St Heliers. The public is invited to watch an Anzac Day-themed video playing at the St Heliers War Memorial from 8am-2pm.

Waiheke Island Dawn Service

Service: 5.50am at Waiheke War Memorial Hall, corner of Belgium St and Ostend Rd 
Wet weather option: In the event of wet weather, the service will be held in the Waiheke War Memorial Hall
Other details: Wreath laying at service - Military/Service wreaths only. Members of the community are invited to attend the Dawn Service, welcome to lay a wreath after main ceremony completed. Gates to the cenotaph remain open until mid-afternoon for community wreath laying and private commemorations. Only RSA members can enter the RSA premises afterwards.
