Join the fun on Walking School Bus Week!
Get aboard for a week (15-19 February) of walking, fun, competitions and lots of great prizes!
This week, Walking School Buses across the Auckland region will be celebrating everything that’s great about walking to school.
If you don’t have a Walking School Bus at your school, you can still participate. Walking School Buses are a cool, safe way for children to walk to school in the company of others. Register for Auckland Transport's theme days or enter our competition to start a new Walking School Bus.
Themed walking days
Get the whole bus involved in these fun activities. There are some great daily prizes to be won.
- Monday 15 February: Step out in a crazy pair of shoes for Funky Feet day
- Tuesday 16 February: Put on your wackiest hat for Hilarious Hat day
- Wednesday 17 February: Bring a friend and parent to walk with you on your Walking School Bus so they can join the fun too
- Thursday 18 February: Wear your loudest brightest clothes so your whole bus is seen in the AMI Be Bright Be Seen day
- Friday 19 February: Get the whole school involved. How many people can you get walking together on a Giant Walk into school?
Start a new Walking School Bus and win!
Simply start a Walking School Bus during the Walking School Bus Week that consists of at least three primary school children and one adult and go in the draw to win a book of 10 Event Cinema movie tickets!
