Auckland Council’s Parks, Sport and Recreation unit are the proud recipients of the Skills Active Aotearoa Organisation Award.
Presented on the evening of Saturday 21 November, the Awards recognise those making a contribution to the health and wellness of New Zealanders through exercise and fitness.
“The Skills Active Aotearoa Organisation Award reflects the value that we place on our employees,” said Michael Groom, Manager Aquatic and Recreation Facilities.
“By investing in our employees we not only demonstrate a commitment to mitigating health and safety risks but we give employees the opportunity to learn new skills and develop in their careers. We aim to be an employer of choice which is reflected in our seasonal employees returning to work for us.”
The award winning team also recently had success in the New Zealand’s Recreation Association (NZRA) Awards held in Wellington. Auckland’s Tepid Baths Redevelopment was highly commended in the Outstanding Project category.
