Today we are reporting 4,990 community cases, 379 hospitalisations and 10 deaths.

The seven-day rolling average of community case numbers is 7,863 – last Sunday it was 7,608.

COVID-19 deaths

Today we are sadly reporting the deaths of 10 people with COVID-19.

These deaths take the total number of publicly reported deaths with COVID-19 to 1,055 and the 7-day rolling average of reported deaths is 12.

Of the people whose deaths we are reporting today; two were from the Auckland region; two from Waikato; one from Lakes; one from MidCentral; three from Canterbury; and one from Southern.

Two people were in their 70s, six were in their 80s and two were aged over 90.

Of these people, nine men and one woman died.

This is a very sad time for whānau and friends and our thoughts and condolences are with them.

Out of respect, we will be making no further comment on these deaths.

Vaccinations administered in New Zealand
