Pop Marbles
Get ready for Pop – a series of ‘pop-up’ sensory experiences, encouraging Aucklanders to play and get creative in our public spaces.
This year, explore the all-new Pop Big Bang project, created by Alt Group. Head down to Aotea Square to control a field of 25 touch-activated drums – the harder you drum, the brighter the drums glow. So get working on those rhythms now and create a unique light show through your own music!
Drop by another beloved Pop project, Pop Drop at Silo Park to play with a giant water-filled blob. Whether you’re prodding, rolling, stepping or pushing it, you’re in for some fun-filled, water-wobbling action.
Plus check out all of your old favourites Pop projects – swing by Freyberg Place or Aotea Square during your lunch break to play multi-sensory Pop Ping Pong against your workmates or take the whānau to Pop Marblesand build a giant marble run to create your own soundscape.
Eight Pop projects will be springing up across central Auckland between 1-25 March, put together by Auckland Council and the Waitematā Local Board. Then later in the month, three Pop projects will take the fun to Māngere and Ōtāhuhu from 26 March to 7 April with support from the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board.
