Did you know you can get up-to-date information about the number of pedestrians at various sites across Auckland’s city centre?

Heart of the City’s pedestrian counting system continuously measures pedestrian activity in central Auckland.

Real-time data

The data enables real time reports that can be accessed anytime. You can compare pedestrian activity over daily, weekly, monthly and yearly periods.

Quarterly reports

Heart of the City produces quarterly reports with details on pedestrian activity trends. The reports provide information about what happens over the course of the day, and the difference between weekday and weekends footfall.

They also show the effect that major events, construction work and other activities in the city centre have on pedestrian traffic.
