Volunteers planted 1100 small trees and native plants at Waiatarua Reserve, Remuera.
A big ‘thank you’ from Ōrākei Local Board goes to volunteers who dug in for a day of hard work at the annual community planting day at Waiatarua Reserve, Remuera.
A total of 1100 small native trees and shrubs were planted, making the day a huge success.
Making the most of the area’s natural environment is a priority for the local board and a number of planting days have been held this year, including those at Madills Farm, Churchill Park, Tahuna Torea Nature Reserve, Whenua Rangatira, Waiata Reserve and the Waiatarua wetlands.
