Auckland Transport wants to hear what cycling and walking routes you would like in New Lynn, Avondale and Blockhouse Bay.
You can submit feedback on the Auckland Transport website or by calling 09 355 3553 for a freepost brochure. Feedback needs to submitted by Friday 24 June.
The project is part of a major cycling and walking investment from central and local government in west Auckland. AT recently sought feedback on the New Lynn to Avondale Shared Path which goes through green spaces along the rail line. This path will connect with the Waterview Shared Path, which is currently under construction, and ultimately the city centre via the Northwestern Cycleway.
Getting feedback from people who live and work in the area will be invaluable says AT’s Cycling and Walking Manager, Kathryn King. “That local knowledge will be fed into our decision making in developing cycling in the area. We want to build a network that will be useful to local people, connecting them to schools, parks and the town centre.
Auckland Transport is working with project partners Auckland Council, the Government through the NZ Transport Agency and the Urban Cycleways Programme on a $200m programme of cycle improvements over the next three years.
