Westgate Town Park concept image
Henderson-Massey Local Board invites you to have your say on the design of the Westgate Town Park.
Following previous community consultation, the board has developed a concept plan for the new public space. The park will be a 1.1 hectare site situated within the 24 hectare open space network adjacent to the existing Northwest Mall and on the corner of Maki Street and Tawhia Drive.
The park will provide a green heart to the area and create quality open space to support the future growth of Westgate.
“With a proposed café, a large lawn for events, picnic lawns, a water feature for children to play in, and landscaping with native and cherry trees, the park will give shoppers and future residents a green, open space to enjoy,” says Henderson-Massey Local Board Chair Vanessa Neeson.
“We’ve taken on board the community’s feedback as we’ve developed these concept plans. Now we want to know if we’ve got it right before the finer details are put in place.”
To have your say, visit Shape Auckland. Feedback closes Wednesday 11 May at 4pm.
You can also see the concept plans and give your feedback in person at the Northwest Mall next to Farmers on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 April from 2-6pm.
Feedback will be used to create detailed design plans. Construction is scheduled to start late this year.
