Consultation to open on Auckland's budget
Aucklanders are being urged to have their say on the city’s budget from Monday (15 February 2016), when consultation opens on the city’s 2016/2017 Annual Budget.
The six-week consultation focuses on trade-offs between rates and local priorities as part of the second-year of Auckland Council's Long-term Plan.
The topics for consultation are:
Mayor Len Brown says it’s vital Aucklanders have their say on the issues that affect the city.
“Auckland is a great city, but it is growing rapidly. We must make sure we invest in managing that growth, as well as spreading the costs of that investment fairly amongst us.
“I am looking forward to hearing what people have to say.”
Have Your Say events are taking place across the region so Aucklanders can give their feedback in person.
In addition, all consultation material and dates of Have Your Say events will be available on shapeauckland.co.nz and in hard copy at libraries, service centres and local board offices.
The consultation runs until 4pm on 24 March 2016.
