There are many lovely walks in the Upper Harbour Local Board area. Here are a few of our favourite shorter walks.
Download the Upper Harbour Walking guide.
Head to the beach at Mairangi Bay and up to the rock walkway at the northern end, then follow the flat path on top of the wastewater line to Murrays Bay.
Enjoy a walk through kauri and broadleaf forest. Located off Ōrewa’s Old North Road, the lower track beside Nukumea Stream is wheelchair friendly.
The Nature Trail starts below Vaughan Homestead and heads away from the beach through wetland with pūriri and pōhutukawa. For coastal views, choose the 100 Acre Track.
From the lookout, enjoy spectacular views of the city skyline, Hauraki Gulf islands, and Wenderholm and Mahurangi regional parks.
There are even more walks at the Auckland Transport website.
