In April 2017, 25,000 athletes from more than 100 countries will touch down in Auckland for 10 days of sporting challenge and excitement at the World Masters Games 2017.
The largest event staged in New Zealand since the 2011 Rugby World Cup, it will feature 28 sports played across 45 competition venues, from stadiums and arenas to beaches and forests.
So if you’ve always wanted to shoot an arrow like Robin Hood, or serve a tennis ball like Venus Williams, now’s the time to pick a sport and start training!
Founded on the ‘sport for all’ philosophy of the Olympic Charter, the summer World Masters Games is held every four years, promoting lifelong competition between mature sports people, regardless of age, gender, race, status and religion.
