Auckland Regional Migrant Service (ARMS) is running several free job search workshops for migrants throughout August and is holding two specialist employment workshops.
The job search workshops is a one-day seminar for new migrants, covering effective job hunting tips and techniques, cover letter and CV writing, interview tips and provides advice on how to communicate in the workplace.
The workshops are from 9.15am to 3.15pm and free to migrants who have been in New Zealand for less than two years and have a full work or residency visa.
The sessions take place on Tuesday 4 and 18 August at ARMS Regional Offices at 532 Mt Albert Road in Three Kings, and Thursday 20 August at Raeburn House in Northcote, 65 Pearn Crescent next to the library.
ARMS is also running a free employment workshop for IT professionals on Wednesday 19 August from 9.15am to 1.30pm, where migrants will receive helpful advice and tips from IT companies, recruiters and successful migrants on securing work in the sector.
Finally, the charity has organised a special workshop on using LinkedIn to find work and connect with employers. The LinkedIn workshop takes place on Wednesday 12 August, from 10am to 1pm.
