The resource consent application to develop the infrastructure to host the 36th America’s Cup in Auckland has been publicly notified today.

Aucklanders are now able to provide their feedback by making a submission on plans to build the America’s Cup bases and village at Wynyard Basin.

You can have your say over the next 20 working days from 30 January to 28 February 2018.

Anyone can make a submission. More information on how to make a submission is available on the Auckland Council website

The America's Cup notified resource consent applications are available to view on the council's website here.

The application to build the America’s Cup bases at Wynyard Basin involves a cluster of bases located on a 75m extension to Halsey Wharf, a 75m extension to Hobson Wharf, and on the existing Wynyard Wharf.

To facilitate the America’s Cup base infrastructure there is a separate resource consent application to relocate the Sealink ferry and fishing infrastructure from its existing Wynyard Wharf, Halsey Street Extension wharf and the Western Viaduct location to the western side of Wynyard Point.

The council's Governing Body approved that the resource consent application be a direct referral to the Environment Court at its meeting in December 2017.

It is anticipated that a decision from the court will be made in early August 2018.
