Service centres and local board offices

All Auckland Council service centres and local board offices close at noon on Friday 22 December and reopen on Monday 8 January. Service centres and local board offices will be closed on Monday 29 January for Auckland Anniversary.

24-hour service

Rubbish and recycling

Auckland Council will continue to collect your rubbish and recycling over the summer break, but there are some changes to collection days in December and January.

Collections will be one day later for the weeks starting Monday 25 December and Monday 1 January. Normal collections resume on Monday 8 January.

Auckland Council libraries

All libraries except Botany Library will be closed on 25 December, 26 December, 1 January and 2 January.

Botany Library will be closed on 25 December and open throughout the holiday period with hours aligned to the Botany Town Centre shopping centre hours. See the Botany Town Centre website for details.

Great Barrier Island Library will be closed from noon on Friday 22 December to Sunday 7 January.

Extended loans will apply to all borrowed items from the end of November to mid-January.

Mobile libraries will be closed from December 23, with regular schedules resuming on 8 January 2018.
