The new Parnell Train Station is one of many capital works projects made possible thanks to contributions from Auckland ratepayers.

We need to make sure we make the most of your rates, so that our communities remain great places to live, work and play.

Thanks to your rates, we were able to invest $1.1 billion in capital works projects across Auckland from July 2016 to March 2017.

Some of the highlights from that investment included:

• stage 1 of the new $12 million Parnell Train Station
• the reopening of the Warkworth Town Hall following a $5.6 million restoration

Your rates also allowed us to:

• open the new online booking system for inorganic collections, which received more than 38,000 bookings.
• hold Waitangi Day celebrations across Auckland, including the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei celebration at Okahu Bay and events at Hayman Park in Manukau and Hoani Waititi Marae.
