Fans have the chance to get in early to watch the world’s best female golfers in our backyard with a limited run of season passes now on sale.
More than half of the limited run of 5000 four-day season passes has already been scooped up by those who had pre-registered and by New Zealand Golf club members for the MCKAYSON New Zealand Women’s Open.
The first ever LPGA event in this country, featuring New Zealand’s world number one ranked Lydia Ko, will take place at the newly developed Windross Farm Golf Course in Auckland on 27 September to 1 October.
Organisers have limited the season passes to 5000 in order to ensure the maximum fan experience at the tournament.
“This is the first time that the world’s biggest women’s golf tour has come to our backyard,” said Event Director, Michael Goldstein. “This Tour is developing into a truly global one which has been popular because these women put on a real show.
“We want those who come to enjoy a special experience to watch the world best players and also to enjoy all of the other fan engagement activities that we are planning.”
Goldstein said the organisers wanted to ensure the ticket prices were affordable for all, with the four-day season pass set at $99 plus booking fee. Single day passes are also on sale with daily entry of $39 plus booking fee for Thursday and Friday and $49 per day plus booking fee for Saturday and Sunday.
The season passes coincided with a marketing campaign featuring Ko playing in her own backyard.
“It is fun and features Lydia who always enjoys having fun – and that’s what we want to create at this event so it appeals not only to golf fans and sports fans but corporate and women’s organisations who can use it as an opportunity to network and watch the world’s best female golfers in action.”
