Takapuna Beach Playground now open
Take a look at Takapuna's newest playground
Thousands of excited kids and adults turned out on Sunday to celebrate the opening of the Takapuna Beach Playground at Gould Reserve.
Face-painters, clowns and balloon artists added to the entertainment on the day and local eateries kindly came out to provide the catering.
If the opening event is any indication of the crowds the playground will attract, Gould Reserve is set to become a family hot-spot.
The playground was designed to be accessible for all abilities with a wheelchair accessible merry-go-round and wheelchair friendly trampoline. There's also a water play area, picnic facilities, climbing ropes and slides.
The opening marks a significant milestone for Devonport-Takapuna Local Board and Takapuna Beach Playground Charitable Trust. Find out more about how local boards support your community.
