Mayor elect Phil Goff chats with a member of the public while out collecting for the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Auckland mayor elect Phil Goff has had several public appearances in his first week, getting out and meeting his constituents and fulfilling official duties.
He attended his first public event on Wednesday 12 October, laying a wreath at the Passchendaele 99th Commemoration at Auckland Museum.
Today (Friday 14 October) he was out on Queen Street in Auckland's CBD, raising money for the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Suitably attired in a bright pink volunteer sash, Mr Goff thanked donors with a smile and a handshake, and even took the time to listen to a few of the public's ideas for the city.
Mr Goff's week isn't over yet – tomorrow (Saturday 15 October) he will give his first public address at the opening of the Auckland Diwali Festival.
