Panuku Development Auckland is continuing to progress plans for the Takapuna Beach Holiday Park.
“The Takapuna Beach Holiday Park is the jewel in the crown of Takapuna, and we’re working hard to secure the right operator for this special location,” says Ian Wheeler, Director Portfolio Management at Panuku Development Auckland.
After a lengthy negotiation period with a preferred operator, that operator has indicated that they need more time due to their funding situation changing. To progress the project, Panuku has now started parallel negotiations with the next preferred operator.
“Given the current market and the many challenges the site brings, this process has been prolonged. However, we remain committed to securing the right outcome for the people of Takapuna,” says Wheeler.
Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Chair George Wood says both preferred operators have offered exciting options for the upgrade of Takapuna Beach Holiday Park.
“The board is supportive of what both operators have offered and we are keen and ready to play our role in enabling progress as soon as we are in a position to do so.”
“We had hoped to communicate detailed information on the future of the site to our community this side of Christmas, but it looks like we will all have to wait a little longer.”
Panuku has provided an update to Devonport-Takapuna Local Board, which is responsible for approving a lease arrangement for Takapuna Beach Holiday Park.
Panuku will also be presenting an official report at the board’s next meeting on 11 December.
